1. My letter says I have to do numbers ………of……………. street. Do I do both sides of the street?
Yes, please collect on both sides of the street. We ask you to collect from all the houses within the street number range you have been given – odd and even. 2. On the receipts (tear out receipts at the front), do I write my name on them, or the name of the person giving me the money/making a donation? You need to write the name of the person who is making the donation/giving you money. This is so they can use the receipt for their tax return. 3. If someone gives me a credit card donation, do I have to take the credit card details to the bank? No, the Leukaemia Foundation will process the donation/s when you send your receipt book back after the collection. 4. Do I have to write the donor’s full address on the hand written receipt? No, if you don’t have time to write the address, or the donor doesn’t want you to write it on, please just make sure that you fill in the date, the donor’s name and the amount of the donation unless they are making a credit card donation. Please take all details when receiving a credit card donation. 5. On the handwritten receipts, what do you write where it says “For”?All you need to write on the “For” line is the word “donation”. This is used for taxation purposes. 6. I didn’t get my collector’s badge in my kit.Your collector’s badge is the white, blue bordered, perforated part at the bottom of the front cover of the receipt book. All you need to do is pull that off the receipt book cover and attach it with a safety pin to your shirt. 7. There are some businesses/an industrial area in my collection area, can I (or do I have to) go into the businesses and ask for donations?Yes, if you feel comfortable and the street numbers are in your collection area, you’re more than welcome to collect from them. 8. Can I take the receipt book to work to collect donations and/or collect from my family and friends?Absolutely! We encourage you to collect as many donations as you can (but please don’t collect door-to-door outside of your collection area). 9. How do I bank/send in the money that I collect? You can either:- Take the money you collect to any branch of the Commonwealth Bank and bank the funds using the deposit slip inside your receipt book.(Please don’t remove the deposit slip from the receipt book. Your deposit slip contains your unique ‘agent number’ and this will show up on the Foundation’s bank statement when you bank the money you collect).- Pay via the internet using your BPay details on the slip in the front of your book.- Complete your credit card details for the amount you’ve collected on the pink page inside your receipt book. This will be processed when you send the receipt book back to us- Send in a personal cheque or money order, along with your receipt book and collection bag once you’ve finished the collection.- If there is no Commonwealth Bank near you, you can deposit the money you collect at the Post Office. Sometimes it takes quite a while for money deposited at the Post Office to come through to the Foundation, so it is preferable for people to send the money to us (via credit card details, cheque or money order), rather than deposit at the Post Office.- PLEASE DON’T SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL. 10. If for some reason I can’t do the collection what do I do with my kit? Please send back the kit – especially the receipt book and collection bag - using the reply paid envelope you will have received in the kit. We must get the receipt book back for auditing purposes. It would be helpful for us if you send a note explaining why you’re sending the kit back. 11. Can I collect in another street/more streets than I was allocated? OR I would like to collect but haven’t registered for the Doorknock, can I still participate? Please contact the Leukaemia Foundation and we can check if there is an available street in your area for you to collect. 12.
